Private Credit career dilemma
So I’ve been at my current company as an investment analyst out of undergrad for about a year. I’m realizing I really don’t enjoy the underwriting and role in general.
I feel with my personality I’d be a better fit in something more client facing. I’ve started looking into things like investor relations, BD, private funds groups.
Still not really sure what I want to jump to or what makes sense without taking a huge pay cut. If you have an opinion please share, thanks!
Why dont u look at private credit originations. Its basically client facing deal hunting in the space you know well now.
It requires seniority to even get meetings from sponsor counterparts.
Yup so that’s not even close to an option at my level
IR is probably your best option if you want to transition to a less technical and more client facing role. IR teams love to hire former investment professionals. You should be conscious however that pay potential is significantly lower vs the role you are in now.
