Private Credit interview prep resources
Fellow monkeys,
I am currently preparing for an interview with the private credit team at a MF (mostly DL). I am wondering how to prepare best for PC interviews in general, what technicals are important, and what interview-specific resources you can recommend (400Q for credit).
For reference, I already did an internship in PC / DL, so I know the field. I have been treating prep as being built on multiple pillars, those being
1. Private Equity / LBOs (traditional PE questions, as you would get in IB / PE interviews)
2. Debt (capital stack, properties, structural features and use cases)
3. Private Credit market questions (pricing, leverage levels, trends etc.)
4. Deal talk (present a deal you worked on, primarily applicable if you've worked in credit before, but you may also be asked about an M&A deal)
4. Generic accounting
5. Generic valuation
6. Fund specifics (past deals, strategy, assessing underwriting fit etc.)
What else do you think I should prepare, or use to prepare?
Best regards

Are you coming directly from undergrad or IB? Agree with your approach but depending on your background and experience and what level you're interviewing for, you may want to focus on some of those pillars over others.
Thank you for your insight. I am coming out of undergrad, and this would be for an internship position. Do you have any recommendations on prep materials?
