Private Credit VP in Paris - thoughts on comp?

I’m in the final round for a VP seat at a Direct Lender based in Paris, however as I’ve got a banking background I’m not sure what to expect in terms of comp (haven’t received any indications throughout the process). There’s some valuable info on this forum, however mainly focused on London and NYC.

Does anyone have any experience with comp in Paris? Is it comparable to London? Also, should I negotiate carry if it’s not offered, or is this less common on the continent? The fund is MM focused with ~€5bn AUM.

Any help would be appreciated!

No carry at VP level would be crazy.

Not accounting for exchange rate, comps tend to be equal to less than London ie £1 = €[0.8-1] in terms of salary but even in Paris you still have a decent advantage in COL because rent is capped. Take other opinions ofc as this is from discussions I had mostly on the PE side but would assume to be similar in PC

I‘m in Germany and can give some insights to Assoc. comp for private credit. VP should be slightly more than.

Assoc1 comp is around €160-200k cash in Germany (depending on bonus, US and UK funds tend to pay more than their European peers). My gut feeling is that friends of mine in Paris receive slighty less than that, but not sure though.

I hope that helps a little.

Helpful, thanks!

Heard from a friend at a RE DL fund their UK VPs make c.€100k-125k + 100-150% bonus, so doesn’t seem materially off
