My understanding is culture is pretty chill on a relative basis. This is due to the nature of what they are investing in, which are performing, down the fairway credits for sponsor financings that don’t have a lot of underlying complexity to unpack. I believe comp is below the Ares / Golubs of the world but don’t know how comp changes have trended following the leadership exodus a couple years back. This is a lifestyle firm and a place that would support a life outside of finance while also offering comp that is better than other “chill” exits like corporate development
Isn’t this the shop that lost most of their investment team because the pay was severely below market?
And sued the departing investment team?
