Starting as a junior in LP investments - possibility of moving across to GP side?
Hi Monkeys - I work as an analyst LP investor for a BB's AM division. Sort of like a Capital Allocator role - not quite fund of funds since it's internal balance sheet. Quite substantial ticket sizes though given the size of the bank. I've previously interned as a direct investment analyst and would be keen to move back there in future as a FT due to more in-depth company analysis and of course monetary upside potential.
Am I likely to get looks from recruiters or firms for the GP side considering my firm is involved in Primaries, Secondaries, and Co-Investment opportunities? How should I position myself if I do get a first round call?
Cheers!
Sorry no will be a tough switch
Could you elaborate?
Skillset while somewhat different, is complementary before mentioning co-inv.
