Thoughts on Victory Park Capital

Anyone have insight into comp / hours / culture / progression at Victory Park Capital in their Chicago office? Haven’t heard much but know they’re investing out of a relatively sizeable $2bn asset backed credit fund.

Any thoughts or anecdotes would be welcome

They were acquired by Janus Henderson a couple months ago, I can't comment on much else but definitely a big positive tailwind.

Victory Park Capital offers a smaller, more hands-on environment, where you can gain a lot of responsibility early on, especially in asset-backed credit. Comp and hours are competitive for a mid-sized firm but won’t match what you’d get at top banks. The culture is more laid-back compared to big players, with a closer-knit team, but it can still get intense during deal time. Career progression might be slower due to the firm’s size, but you’ll get solid exposure to senior leadership. It’s a good place if you want to dive deep into credit and prefer a smaller, entrepreneurial setting.

No direct insight on VP comp/carry at Victory Park, but I’d imagine it’s lower than what you’d see at larger platforms just given the size and setup. Probably solid base and bonus, but carry might be more deal-specific or tied to long-term performance unless you’re really senior. Seems like a good spot if you’re looking for earlier responsibility and exposure, but probably not top-tier comp out of the gate.

Would be curious if anyone with direct experience can chime in.
