Learning about Crypto (Investing in "startup-coins)

Yo. So I want to become one of those people who invest in new coins that they think will do well. I know multiple VC/PE partners/principals who do this in their free time for fun, and have been doing well (half gambling for fun, half because its interesting), and I'd like to do the same. I know there's kids here who invest in these startup coins so I'd like to know, how do you learn. What resources do you use, what news sites, forums, and whatnot do you use? TLDR: How do I learn to invest in these? Thanks.
