Bernstein ER vs MS ER

If I am interested in doing 2-5 years of ER, B School, and then doing consulting or corpfin in the industry i covered during ER, which of these offers should I take for a summer internship role?

Alliance Bernstein vs Morgan Stanley

EDIT: Just to clarify for AB, this would be on the Sanford Bernstein side and I would be in a team of 3-4 with the senior research analyst being a top ranked one, if you google his/her name you come up with a plethora of videos of him/her talking on cnbc/bloomberg tv. very well known analyst/top ranked.

Raptor.45With the information you've given this must be a joke... of course go with MS...

The only reason you would ever take AB over MS is if you got a specific offer to work under someone who is a top ranked rock-star analyst at AB.

Really curious about your rationale.

SirTradesaLot Really curious about your rationale.

Another gem from Raptor

Raptor.45 I like to have my trusty TI-89 on hand in case I need to do a calculation away from my computer - it also makes you look smart, diligent, and like you care about your job if you have it sitting on your desk. The TI-89 also demonstrates you've taken high level math/physics classes and are therefore well-educated.

I wouldn't really take anything he/she posts seriously.

thunderfan118Wait wait wait... do you have an ER offer for Alliance Bernstein or Sanford Bernstein? If it's the latter, I'd take that over MS all day.

So sell-side ER > buy-side ER at the beginning of your career? What are the reasons?

Bernstein anyday. Just take a look at the caliber of their research analysts. >90% of them are experts in the industry, as in, they worked there. See if you can get your hands on a blackbook and compare it to other firms research. For the most part, they are unmatched in their level of insight.

disclaimer: i am a buysider who reads their research

Sanford Bernstein, all else equal. Look at the first team Institutional Investor rankings and you'll see what I mean. Sanford Bernstein is top notch for sell side ER.

Edit: if sellside ER may not be your long term career goal (or even full-time career goal) I would go with Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley is a bigger name that will hold more weight when recruiting for positions outside of sellside ER or buyside ER (mutual fund, etc).
