Choose between BoAML ER or PIMCO product analyst?

Received summer internship offer from BoAML Equity Research and PIMCO product analyst, both at London. Any thoughts on which one is better? Like return rate, salary and career path?

Can only speak for BAML ER... it's a solid place with a strong equities franchise, but in recent times have lost quite a few good analysts and they seem to be divesting away from research. PIMCO I can't comment on, but I know that it's known more on the fixed income. The two roles are completely different ultimately...

Do you know, roughly, what each job entails? They are quite different roles and lead to v different career paths.

In ER, you learn how to analyze an industry and its businesses. You learn modeling, valuation and how to extract info from mgmt teams and convey information to investors.

Product analysts are entirely different. You will learn about PIMCO's equity products and try to figure out what other products they should offer.

I would say that:

ER = evaluating lemonade stands and telling people about weaknesses/strengths of each

product analyst = working at the lemonade stand and trying to figure out what type of jars to put the lemonade in
