The analyst / director of research will be irritated, but remember SS ER is a cost center for banks so ultimately their opinion of you does not matter, the sales & trading managers run the desk. Imagine you are a buy side investor at Citadel and you come in to this banks trading desk wanting management access, research reports, or (!) to execute some trades. The sales manager would drag the ER analyst out back and shoot him if a protest was raised because you reneged an offer coming out of school. Just don't worry about it at all.

Not OP but in a similar position. About to do final round for the same firms mentioned above but have a return offer that’s exploding soon from mid tier sellside. Fund should know that I applied pre signing the return offer but I’ve had to accept it early this week since the shop wouldn’t accelerate me.

Concerned interviewing PM’s will get annoyed and make me lose both offers.
