Equity Research Salary? (Straight from Undergrad/Big 5 Canada)

Hey everyone,

I am just starting a full time ER associate position in a Big 5. I am coming straight from undergrad with 85k base. I was wondering where my final salary might be? Specifically, what my bonus amount might be.

Thanks!

Typically for the Big 5 in Canada, those hired from MBA / with industry experience have a base of 100k. Bonuses are harder to predict but think all-in comp at this level is 130k - 150k (although I have heard higher numbers for those with a lot of experience). This is where you will ultimately end up prior to being promoted to Analyst.

Analysts range from VP to MD so base is dependent on level obtained / experience. At this point, compensation increases are largely through bonus levels and very little from base increase (fairly marginal).
