Equity Trader Role in International Country, Take it or leave it? - NEED ADVICE
A little background about myself, currently in my third year in a prestigious, however non-target school (my school is way more known for accounting than finance), i plan to finish my degree with a specialization in finance and economics. My GPA is shit (2.4)! However, i plan to bring that up in the high 3s and reflect my specialized GPA when applying to jobs.
My question is as follows, recently through connections i got an opportunity to gain international experience in a third-world country, as an "Equity Trader". Now i know there are a lot of skeptics, however, i see this could be really beneficial when applying to bigger firms. Some of the responsibilities i will be given are as such: Financial Analysis, Economic Data, Global Markets, Ratio Analysis, Technical Analysis, Stocks Valuation, Business Valuation, Stock Growth, Forecasting, IPO, Financial Ratios.
What i want to know is, would this be worth it? What are some PROs and CONs? In my situation where my GPA is bringing me down in front of other applicants, will this experience give me a sort of edge compared to other applicants applying to big banks in the future?
Thanks in advance,
bump
