Geographical Transfer for Research
I've recently netted an SA offer in research from a top-tier BB in Hong Kong but I am interested in getting out of city as soon as possible. My acquaintances have mentioned that Hong Kong is already a good office for research, but due to personal reasons, I wish to transfer to one of the two following offices (in preference):
- Tokyo - I speak business level Japanese but I heard that it is pretty difficult to transfer into Japan (as most banks treat Japan as a completely different region)
- London - I hold dual-citizenship so I'm not sure if this will aid my chances
Would it be possible to start in a different office after the internship? I have read some posts on the forum about geographical transfers, but as research seems to be quite geographically-focused, I was wondering if there was any difference. Would it depend on the sector I am covering?
