Is Bernstein the best in ER?

Most of the threads on this are several years old.

With AllianceBernstein moving their official headquarters to Nashville (research is still in NYC) I'm curious as to how their reputation on the street is.

How does ER at Bernstein compare to the rest of the industry in prestige, exit ops, and comp

Not sure what you are asking either. Reads like a rant. So here are my few cents from the buy side PM and former sell side associate and analyst.

It depends on the sector and team. For energy they are extremely good and insightful. Stock picking prowess, not the greatest but that’s not why I like them. As a PM I pay for ideas and insight. I pay for experience and knowledge not attitude or where someone graduated from. I could care less and I suspect that’s the norm.

Can’t speak to culture or training of associates. But seriously don’t expect to become a covering analyst until you have a lot of years under your belt or you come from industry with years of experience and a few years as an associated.

Salary figure that out on your own. H1B database is worth looking at (as a former H1B person). But comp on sell side can be more complicated. It depends on a lot of factors. Each shop can be different. So understand what drives comp and what you can do to support your comp and your sr analysts comp.

Office politics. Seriously? It exists everywhere. Learn to deal with it and manage it. If it is toxic then leave. Eventually everyone will work with a prick or see someone suffer under a prick. Just try not be one yourself.

Thanks for the response.

I cleaned up the post a bit. To clarify, the rant was posted in 2019 at the end of a couple 2010 threads about ER and never received any replies.
