Looking for a mentor in ER

Hi everyone,

My maiden post here in WSO :)

I will cut straight to the chase. I am looking for someone in the field of ER to be a mentor. I need one because it would make my job hunt and career switch to ER easier, and allow me to learn from someone who had already walked the steps which I crave to follow.

But what's in it for the mentor? Well, out of the generosity of your heart, perhaps this is one way in which you can give back to the community: By taking in a young'un and moulding him to be the very best. But jokes aside, I am willing to do anything that you have no time to do. Analyse a company you are looking at to add to your personal portfolio? Sure. Help you look through a eye popping spreadsheet for any glaring mistakes that you can't be bothered to go through? No problem. Do your income taxes? Err well maybe not...

But the point I am trying to get to is that through this, I hope to gain valuable insight and experience in the field of ER, and hopefully, you will stand to gain some from my limited skill and hunger to learn.

Just a little background: I am from Singapore, so it would be preferable to get a local mentor, although I wouldn't mind if anyone else out there is willing to take me in. I am a current CFA level 2 candidate awaiting the results of my June exam, and I am actively trying to break into the industry.

Any other advice is also much appreciated :)

Cheers!
