Travel Passport for CFA
Hello,
For all those who have taken the CFA, I have a quick question regarding passports for the exam. I am not a US citizen and have a regular passport from my country of origin. The requirement states that I need an International Travel Passport. I'm not sure if there is a difference between a regular passport and a travel passport. I am able to travel with the passport that I have but it's not necessary called a travel passport, it's just your standard, blue passport. Can someone shed light on this. Not trying to drop 2 bills and 4 months and then find out that I can't take the exam. Thanks.
Can someone help me out? I've tried emailing the CFA directly but received a copy pasted response that didn't really answer anything. I know that there are lots of people who took the CFA on this forum. Just need to know for sure before and make it for the deadline. Thanks.
It is OK if your passport is issued by other country. I think most (all?) passports are travel passports. Your passport should comply with the CFA identificacion policy:
A valid international travel passport is issued by a national government which certifies, for the purpose of international travel, your identity and nationality
Is an original document (photocopies are not allowed) and is current (not expired)
Contains your name, date of birth, passport number, expiration date, and the name of the country that issued the passport
Is machine readable (handwritten passports will not be accepted)
Includes a recognizable photograph on the passport data page
