Allen Edmonds Loafers

What do you guys think about the below loafers? I found the dark brown on sale for $200 and they fit great. My shop is business casual so i think they would be okay for work and versatile enough to wear out at night. What does everyone think? Would be a definite yes if they were the black but the brown is extremely dark in real life and somewhat difficult to tell that it is not black

Unless we're talking about boots, $200 is way too much to spend on anything with a rubber sole.

Nothing short of everything will really do.

I have the dark brown and pretty much consider them black. Very nice shoes.

"That dude is so haole, he don't even have any breath left."

"I'm not sure why they didn't opt for the leather sole" Because AE is owned by a private equity firm. First they came for the leather sole, and I said nothing. Then they came for the full grain leather, and I said nothing. Then they came for the "made in the usa" stamp, and I started buying Aldens.
