Bags / Backpack for summer interns

Starting my SA at a PE firm in NYC next week - was considering using my north face backpack (small, black) as my bag for my internship, but not sure if this is not professional enough. I don't really want to spend ~$600 on a tumi backpack for 10 weeks. What is the done thing? What would you guys recommend? Thanks!

Dude what are you talking about, many interns wear Tumis and it’s not like you’re pulling up in some flashy designer bag

Wouldn't buy a new Tumi, you'd certainly be able to use it for more than the 10 weeks, but a shiny new bag has no upside.

You can bring a nice bag if it's worn in and not ostentatious (not logo-bombed).

Stick with the north face bag imo as long as it's not torn up.

Funniest

Don't wear north face. So unprofessional. Our last intern wore a north face backpack to the office, and it disgusted us so much our group head grabbed him by the ankles, swung him around like a helicopter, and threw him out the window like an Olympian.

The next intern was too professional with a Tumi bag, making it clear he makes too much money. We gave him a return but changed our internship program to unpaid the next summer.

The final intern came in everyday juggling his laptop, charger, and headset while riding a unicycle. His professionalism was juuuuuuust right
