Bonobos for SUITS? Looking for $600-$1000 range

Current banker, head hunter interviews coming up

I've only ever heard of bonobos being known for their pants (have a couple), but recently I bought a few of their weekly grinder shirts and really liked the fit. Pulled the trigger on 3 with their perennial deal.

Tried on a suit while I was buying the shirts, and was really impressed with the look, fit, feel. Price range: 500-900$. Perfect, exactly my range. But the problem is I've never heard anybody talk about bonobos outside pants.

Anyone know anything? Looking for any thoughts, thanks.

Bonobos Suits

The opinion on bonobo's suits is a mixed bag. Will some vouch for the cut an fit of suit, others think that a higher quality suit can be purchased for a similar price point.

Thats where I'll be getting my next suit. The $550 navy jetsetter or whatever its called. I have their pants and daily grind shirts. The fit is unbelievably good - can't wear anything else now.

sales. They fit well and are pretty solid quality. Besides this, I'd say in that price range you could find a number of brands in that price range better then bonobos. Not bashing your post but I would shop around. Check out Brook Brothers, J Crew, DKNY, J Hilburn, etc.

Bonobos Suits are Fused

Interestingly, Bonobo's was purchased by Walmart in 2017. Some the brand loyalist's believe that this will lead to an eventual decline in product quality.

According to Bonobo's customer support the Bonobo's suits, particularly the Jet Setter suit, are fused suits. In a word, they are lower quality than full canvas suits. Here is an explanation of fused suits from the tailored suit makers at

Tommy Hilfiger suits from Macy's are way better quality and can be had at bargain prices when they're having sales. They fit well and are pretty solid quality. Besides this, I'd say in that price range you could find a number of brands in that price range better then bonobos. Not bashing your post but I would shop around. Check out Brook Brothers, J Crew, DKNY, J Hilburn, etc. You could even possibly score something high end for closer to the 1000$ mark. Just my opinion.

You seem like you know what you are talking about, so I trust your recommendations. But are you making these recommendations because you know or have a good general sense that bonobos suits are lower quality? Or just on the fact that these are safer and well-known choices and therefore most likely better option for my price range.

Still might pull the trigger because I was just really impressed with the fit, and they have a 25% off sale right now. Will def check out suit supply

I'm making the recommendation based on the fact you could snag two suits for closer to $800 dollars that have a great fit and good quality fabric vs. one from bonobos which isn't high quality. I own most of the brands I listed and I've gotten great usage out of these suits. You also should take your suit to a tailor even if it fits great of the rack if you're spending close to a grand on it. Go with what I suggested and you can roll over the left over $200 for a solid pair of oxfords.

go to neiman last call or an outlet like that get better quality if you have a budget of under $1000 - don't buy a full price hugo boss or brooks brothers they are trash - i heard for that money j crew is decent but i have seen some zegna or tom ford for 1-2k at outlets and you notice the difference or even check for a sale canali much better than the brand above
