Burberry or Armani?

Im going to an intern at an hedge fund..I have two options for my suit: Armani and Burberry.

Which brand would better suit "the finance world"? Im also probably gonna buy a coat from the brand that i choose..I know that i should make decision of my own opinion, but i seriously cant decide..Please give me your opinion, though this is a kind of an silly question. Thanks!

As an intern you probably shouldn't be sporting either Armani or Burberry...

My recommendation would be to avoid both when picking a suit. You should really go with the best look and fit rather than the best brand. A suit isn't really supposed to be "fashionable" so much as display that you're a put-together professional.

For a coat, this is a different story. I own multiple coats from both. My Burberry coats tend to be more professional in nature while the Armani ones are more fashionable. So I'd go with Burberry if you're looking for something to wear over a suit and Armani if you're looking for something to be seen in on Friday night.

Very few people if any can actually tell the brand of a suit by its cut. So unless you go on saying it's Armani nobody is gonna really know. But as said above interns are not really supposed to be dressed in Armanis and Burberrys in the US.

To the question, Burberry fits better if you are scrawny kid unless you tailor it from them. Armani has different different brands like Giorgio, Collezioni, Emporio. And each has its own cut. It really depends on your budget. But if I was choosing I would go with an Armani Collezioni i.e if you are buying off the rack. But if you have serious money to burn then I would recommend Ralph Lauren Purple Label.

the suit isnt really that important but go with burberry to be safe. what is important are the accessories. get yourself a nice watch; audemar watch if you can afford it.

I actually bought a Burberry suit at a 2nd hand store in NYC for ~$100. It was one of those situations where it had already been tailored almost perfectly and was too cheap to pass up. I wear it pretty frequently and you would never know it's a Burberry suit unless you saw the lining in the jacket - pretty conservative stylistically and to be honest, kinda so-so quality.

Problem identified, so why not solve it now? What keeps you from buying suits from a different maker?
