I have a Ferragamo belt. It is very simple and elegant see not flashy. It is simply a metallic rectangle belt buckle that has Ferragamo etched in it.
Unless you were starring a long time at my crouch I dont think you would notice it says Ferragamo. Now there are certain ladies that I wouldnt mind doing that but thats another subject.
I think you should be fine with what you wear, but dont ever talk about it. If you dont come off as a douche but you dress really nice then most people wouldnt say anything.

I'm sorry but anyone SA who wears a belt that's worth more than $100 is a serious tool. You're there to learn and show that although you want to enter a 'baller' industry, you're down to earth. I would recommend staying away these until your FT stint.
See I have the opposite opinion, no one really cares what you wear as long as you're not a prick. I wore a $300 belt during my summer and carried a purse worth about $1500 but no one cared or should care. I wasn't flashy they just happen to be what's in my wardrobe. These questions are so ridiculous, wear whatever you want and get your work done. If what you own are Ferragamo and Hermes, then wear them, people start caring when your personality is constantly centered around these things. I'm not saying buy them or you must have them, but if your wardrobe happens to be tailored suits or expensive clothes no one cares.
We had an intern who had a nice watch, but he was a smart kid and everyone liked him and our MD complimented him on the watch and they had great conversations because they both happened to be watch people. I've complimented girls on their nice bags and they've done the same. No one cares, whether its a $50 Casio or a $10,000 rolex just make sure the excel model you hand me has no stupid mistakes.
