First Watch -$350 Budget
Hey guys, I’m a sophomore just getting into watches and looking to pick up my first piece. Budget’s around $350. Wrist is ~6.9" around, 3" across, so nothing too chunky.
Open to anything clean and reliable. Not Appreciate any recs thanks in advance!
For the budget I would look for a nice looking electronic Casio or for a second hand mechanical Seiko/Citizen/Orient, there are many interesting entry level models with timeless design from these brands (consider also new i’d you can raise the budget a little).
Consider staying away from Invicta, Pagani design, and similar “aliexpress” brands. These are often copies of more well-known models form Rolex etc. and you will regret the purchase as soon as you get more into watches
Agree with what previous poster said! Honestly a lot of good options depending on what style of watch and if you are open to Aliexpress Chinese watches (not just the copies like Pagani Design but some actually decently quality ones too) or even second hand options. I’d personally stay away from fashion brands that drop ship cheap Chinese watches though, like MVMT, Daniel Wellington, Filippo Loreti, etc.
Here are some in every style from some more or less well known brands that are reputable in this price range, so skipping the random names you can find on Amazon and Aliexpress. Just search these up on Amazon or eBay.
Dress Watch:
Casio MTP-E720L-1A: $55 and looks amazing.
Citizen BI1030-53A: $80 ish, looks pretty clean.
Casio MTP 1302: $75, design is kinda ripping off both an oyster perpetual and a datejust, and the case looks like metal but is brass and pretty flimsy irl. Looks cool though.
Dive Watch:
Sports Watch:
Chronograph:
Timex Waterbury Classic Chrono - $80.
Timex Weekender Chrono - $80.
Edifice EFV6500D - $95 ish.
Field Watch:
Digital watch (honestly just search Casio and choose):
Casio F91W - the $20 watch that Obama and Binladen wore at one point.
Casio AE1200 - cool looking dial for $25.
Casio GShock DW5600UE - $50 dollar watch that is borderline indestructible.
Go on eBay and get a used Seiko. You’re probably looking at quartz for under $75 but could maybe find something automatic.
not in the favor of getting a used watch as a first one
thanks both of you after a bit of research ive shortlisted:
timex TWEG18514
casio a1751
casio a1369/70
casio a2330/2396
casio a 1176
casio a2130
casio a117
would appreciate some outlook on choosing from these..thanks in advance
Hey man these are great options. I personally prefer a simpler dial if I just want one watch so it can GADA like people say (go anywhere do anything). The chronographs (ones with sub dials and has stop watch functions) are great but seems abit busy not the most versatile.
I personally prefer Casio A2130, but I also think A1176 looks really clean for a chronograph if you want that. If you want a more rugged look, A1370.
