if your coming into FT just buy better/proper suits. I don't think anyone will outwardly comment on it, but everyone in their head will think its a bit odd that you don't understand the etiquette.

Interns IMO can get away with it but you are seen as a kid who doesn't understand all of these (fashion) rules.

Dark charcoal does the job.

The quickest way to tell if someone is a bot is to see if they wear a black suit to an interview/job (in finance, at least). Navy and grey only, squid.

People do notice, but it’s subtle. A black suit isn’t “wrong” (I've seen a lot during interview processes and in the times we are in I'm glad they wearing one anyways...) , it’s just less typical in corporate settings (especially in banking/finance), where it’s often associated more with formal events than day-to-day business.

The safer and more standard choice is navy/dark blue. It tends to look more natural in an office environment and is generally perceived as a bit more “polished” and versatile.

I would think you're either a complete newbie (which I expect after your first paycheck to change it) or you're socially autistic and can't see how people dress around you.

At best you're just disregarded as someone that doesn't know suit ettiquette/no style (which would somehow also be related to being socially autistic)

only acceptable colors are navy blue or charcoal grey, and preferably it should also fit you

I’m with Kevin W. on this one. Better go with a dark blue suit. It looks way more fashionable. Personally, I love wearing different shades of blue.

"If you want to blend in as a full-time pro instead of looking like an eternal intern, ditch the black. Navy, charcoal, dark greythose are the everyday weapons. Black is fine for funerals, late-night galas, or pretending you have zero style awareness."

Actually, a black suit limits you a lot because you can only wear black shoes with it. Otherwise, it clashes. Your best option is a navy suit. It is much more stylish for different events and gives you many more selection options.
