Hair wax/gel suggestions

After deciding to keep my hair long this fall, I'd like to know which hair wax or gel you guys use

No wet look if possible, just to fix them

Something available in UK/London or through Amazon

Cheers

I'm a big fan of Bumble and Bumble Sumogel. Good hold and it only takes a little to work. Throw in some standard pomade (any brand works, so go cheap) to get a shiny look. Sometimes I'll hit it with a quick strafing run of hairspray to add more hold.

Side Note--Also a big fan of Hanz de Fuko. Everything they do is great, but I really like their Quicksand hair clay. Even though I'm moving more towards gels, I highly recommend anything HdeF.

Dayman?

If you want no wet look, do not use pomade. Use a little bit of "sculpting clay" or "molding clay" or products that say something along those lines. Good hold and your hair looks dry and like you didn't use product.

Baxter of California Clay Pomade, strong hold and not too shiny

I don't let product touch my hair. Instead I shampoo once every 1-2 week(s) and afterwards massage organic coconut oil / Moroccan argan oil (coconut works better) into my scalp.

all the garbage product and constantly washing your hair is no bueno when you can naturally style it after you improve the quality of your hair. this is from someone who went from curly wavy to wavy straight hair

So you just rinse it with water on a daily basis? Don't they get greasy after 1-2 days? Can you talk a bit more about the routine and outcome? Thx!

  1. Shampoo hair once every two weeks
  2. Dry hair and apply a good amount of coconut oil
  3. Leave on hair for entire day
  4. Wash off with hottest water available (only touching your hair or it will obviously burn your skin) and squeeze out all excess oil
  5. wash hair once a day with hottest water available and make sure you're brushing it all the way backwards, then all the way forwards while washing. Just be thorough. \

your hair will adjust and not be as greasy / dry going forward

ECO styler gel. One of my ex-girlfriends (in tandem with her sister) is a hair model/enthusiast sensation on YouTube with 100K+ followers and this was what they recommended to me in the past. Granted, they’re black girls and their natural hair types are way different than mine as a white male, but they loved the gel and I do too, so it must be versatile.

It’s available on Amazon in the U.S. so hopefully it’s everywhere else too. It doesn’t have the most intense hold and it wears out as the day goes on, but it will “set” your hair in place in the morning and gradually fade away later in the afternoon/evening without ever leaving any stickiness or residue or flakes. It’s the most “natural” feeling gel I’ve used, if that makes sense.

Don't use a gel if you don't want a wet look (honestly don't use gel in general). For a finishing product get https://blumaan.com/products/cavalier-clay</a">Cavalier Clay by Blumaan and it looks really good if you prestyle with https://blumaan.com/products/original-styling-meraki</a">Original by Blumaan after a shower. I know that company has recently released a https://blumaan.com/products/fifth-sample-styling-mask-pomade-low-shine…</a">pomade and has a https://blumaan.com/products/hybrid-cream-clay</a">hybrid clay if your hair is a little thinner or lighter, but I haven't tried them.

Best hair gel to get the right look is this stuff called nair. It will get your hair to lay just how you want it. Apply generously and work it down to the scalp for the best look.
