Looking for a laptop case

Hi guys, I am really excited to be on this forum. I was hoping to get some help from you guys for buying a computer case for my 15” laptop. I am in grave need of one as my earlier laptop case is in a pretty bad state. However, I strictly do not want something black and bulky. On the other hand, I don’t want anything too bling as I am going to carry it to work. Something compact and functional should be nice. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks for the suggestions, the bags look great. However, I am not much of a leather fan. Leather bags are generally much heavier and I am not too fond of the way they look. I would appreciate if you could recommend bags in some other material – something that is lightweight, but durable. My budget is around $150, but definitely not more than $200. I want something which has few pockets for things like pens, business cards, flash stick, power cords, cell phone, etc. I want to carry it like a briefcase, but it would be nice if I also had the option of carrying it on my shoulder.

Pikeroderick, the two brands that I would recommend for business briefs are Briggs and Riley and Tumi. Both these luggage manufacturers make high quality laptop briefcases. Personally, I prefer Briggs and Riley for their clean lines and functionality. I find BR bags a lot more streamlined and a little less pricey than Tumi. Of course, Tumi also doesn’t have the lifetime warranty that Briggs and Riley offer on their products. I like this Verb Move business case from BR, which suits almost all your requirements. Tumi has a similar product – Alpha essential brief. You can check out both the options and see which one you like better!

Thanks for your suggestions, Angelafrankiln and Clever Name. I checked out the bags recommended by both of you and here are my initial thoughts:

Tumi Alpha essential brief : I don’t care too much about its looks and the bag costs a whopping $325. The only extra feature this bag has is the umbrella pocket – useful, but not essentially what I am looking for in a briefcase.

Filson briefcase: I like the features of this bag, but I wonder why they are charging extra for the handgrip and its installation. I don’t mind spending the extra $30 for a handgrip, but isn’t that something that you would naturally expect in a briefcase? I also think the bag looks a little bulkier than what I want.

Briggs and Riley Move business case: This bag is the closest to fitting all my requirements. It’s clean, simple, compact, and lightweight with lots and lots of pockets. I especially like the generous lifetime warranty http://www.briggs-riley.com/simple-as-that-lifetime-warranty/ on it – it shows Briggs and Riley’s commitment to their customers.

I will probably be deciding which one to buy soon, but the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that I should go with the BR brief.

Longshot, what material does Filson use to make their bags. I have been using nylon bags and I am familiar with their quality and durability. How does the fabric used in Filson bags compare to nylon?

Go with Filson. It's classy but has personality, and as longshot said, the older it gets, the better it looks. My friends working at GQ/Details have been touting it for years.

Although I like the Filson briefcase, I have some concerns. First, I checked with a few people who’ve been using Filson and most of them have the same complaint that the bag doesn’t have enough pockets for all the stuff that goes into a briefcase. I carry a lot of high value tech gear with me and I would be a little wary of bundling them together in one pocket. Second, I hear the cotton twill material they use to make their bags is hard to clean. Briggs and Riley use nylon for their bags, which I know is resistant to stains and pretty easy to clean since I have some experience with nylon bags. In another words, it’s not high maintenance. But the thing that worries me most is Filson’s limited lifetime warranty. Does that mean that they will not repair the bag for anything other than manufacturing defects? Compared to Briggs and Riley’s lifetime warranty (http://www.briggs-riley.com/simple-as-that-lifetime-warranty/ - which, by the way, even covers airline damage), it doesn’t really paint a nice picture!

Don't forget to pick-up a matching buckskin wallet or even coin purse while you're producing your acquisitions. Purses are loved by all women as well as a great gift for special events.Keep quality in mind when searching for the perfect side tooled leather purse. You will encounter inexpensive imitations you'll need for a great leather tooled ladies handbag. Rather than a single made of leather-based, an inexpensive purse made of plastic-type or vinyl will appear to save you money.

If you discover several that you just love, never limit yourself to just one. Right now, it is nearly necessary to individual more than one purses on sale with modern day fashions
