Middle Office Risk Management - tie or no tie?
I apologize for the dumb question but does middle office risk management (credit risk in particular) wear ties in the office? I know this position isn't client facing but as far as I know, it is normal in some MO positions to wear ties. Any input is appreciated.
How about you advice me for my upcoming SA interview for Risk? How should I prepare?
I would guess it depends more on the office than the division. I.E. in NYC you'll probably still wear a tie and even a suit, while in flyover country the whole office is business casual.
No tie according to fixed income risk friend of mine at JPM NYC.
With that being said dress code is part of the firm's culture; Risk ppl obviously do not dress the same across the street.
Wear a tie on the first day and if nobody else is wearing a tie don't wear one on the second day. Boom.
