Other brands vs. Charles Tyrwhitt?

It seems WSO generally prefers Charles Tyrwhitt shirt. The problem is I live in CA and I can't really try on these shirts or see the materials in person. Does anyone know similar cost/quality brands with in-person stores in LA area? Thanks!

They have free returns, if you're not in a rush just follow their measurement instructions on the website then order 3-4 shirts around what you think your size will be, try them on at home (don't be a dick, be showered and wear an undershirt when you do this), keep the one that fits you, return the others and order more in the correct size. Keep in mind they run a bit big (I'm 6'0/220 with a big chest/shoulders/neck and a bit of a beer belly and wear a slim, most skinnier guys wear extra slim). Alternatively go to a local shop, get your measurements, and then order online (again don't be a dick, buy a shirt or 2 at the local place as a courtesy instead of wasting their time then get the rest of what you need from CT).

Alternatively they have storefronts in NYC and I think Chicago if you're going to be in either of those cities anytime soon, I have something like 20-25 CT shirts maybe 3-4 of which I bought at one of the stores in NYC and the rest online, the sizing is consistent between the 2.

This is all good advice. Since they ship from the UK shipping takes a while so be prepared for that. If you know your shirt measurements or go to a tailor to measure you then the only issue should be fit. They describe each of their fabrics pretty well on the website with good pictures. I tend to order a variety of different fabrics to have flexibility for weather and occasions.

Their "Slim Fit" is considered to be similar to a regular fit while their classic fit would be for bigger guys/old school fit types. Slim fit would be a good place to start unless you are skinny then you can move down in fit.

I'm surprised they don't have a store in LA, but looks like they have them in the DC area, Houston, Philly and New York.
