Stub on Watch

Hey everyone, just got my stub which will be like $15k after tax and I’m a big watch guy and given covid, won’t go on vacation this year so want to reward myself for the hard work. Trying to decide between the speedmaster 3861 sapphire or go down a bit and a seamaster. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. I want a watch that I won’t lose much money on if at all. I have a 41 DJ with a rhodium dial that my dad got me

Depends on your style homie - are you more of a sports watch or a dress watch kind of guy?

The watches you mentioned above are solid, but here are a few suggestions

- Cartier Santos (Dressy sport watch)

- Panerai Luminor (Not for everyone)

- Rolex Air King or Explorer (Might have gotten difficult to get at AD)

- Tudor Black Bay or Pelagos (Keep the wrist warm until you get the Sub/GMT)

If you want a watch you won’t lose much money on, I recommend buying pre owned to start. I also recommend not relying on that in any way, since watches in general lose their value. After that the obvious choices are stainless sports watches from the big names, but not realistic since it is a huge wait (in your price range really just Rolex, as the PP and APs will be a bit pricey). Omega is a solid choice that should be fine, I’m a bigger fan of the speedmaster if you have a large enough wrist.

I've said this on several watch threads at this point, but don't just buy a watch because you have the cash to do so now. You need to first identify a watch that really speaks to you and if it is beyond your range at the moment, wait up and save up for that piece. No point getting a watch just because you can now.
