Ties - Fashion advice
I have Solid white and Solid Light blue shirts. I have a navy and charcoal suit.
What do you guys think of the following ties. I am required to have a tie on majority of time at work this summer so I need about 5-10 ties. I really value my appearance but have no taste in ties at all.

I didn't mind 2, 5, and 6. A few of the other ones were a little rough.
If you buy the plaid one or the orange checked one I will bring a scissors to your desk, cut off the bottom half of the tie and make sure you use the remainder as a napkin at dinner. besides those two, all others are good picks.
Assuming you are not in new york, you buy a few then check out century 21 when you get here for your internship. You will have enough time that you can stop over and buy a few ties. awesome selection and on a good day you can find some great tie brands for $30-$40. its worth a trip to fill out your wardrobe. Clothes are marginally good but accessories are great.
For $15, how is the quality of these things. Is the silk thin and cheap feeling?
hell no to the the golf tie

Check out Charles Tyrwhitt if they have stores in your city. Thought you might be interested. Here a few that I picked out for you.

^ thanks for the links. I am in NY and will check these out.
After going to so many interviews I rarely saw someone in a striped tie so I figured bankers dont wear them. I saw solids, dots, and then design dots.
I also saw some bright ties, like pink, light blue, blue with orange
I thought dark ties like navy with spots was not acceptable but I guess I had a small sample size.
Any other links would be much appreciated. I have checked out C21 and did like how some of the ties felt even their branded ones felt flimsy.
Whats the review on tiebar?
Hi Notorious23, Personally, I like 2 and 5 the most out of these. Alternatively, you might want to consider a subscription to Tie Society for the summer. You can choose from hundreds of ties, keep them as long as you like, and exchange them whenever you want, all for one flat rate. Shipping is always free both ways. Our collection includes many ties made in the USA or imported from Italy. We even have an exclusive line made by a 200 year old fashion house in Commo, Italy. Our subscriptions start at $10.95, and we have a 30 day money back guarantee. If you're buying 5-10 ties, you would probably save quite a bit of money and be able to wear nicer ties. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions.
Good luck this summer! -Harry
So I bought Ties #2,5, from my first post and I bought ties #3,4 from Sxh6321 posts. Thanks, would be awkward to see someone else wearing the same ties lol.
In general for IB tie colors should be Navy,Blue, Pink, Red? Thats it?
Does anyone wear green, yellow/gold, or purple ties?
I'm assuming silk ties are for work/formal use, while knit are more casual? I've never bought anything other than silk ties before.
