What earphones/headphones do you guys use for calls on the go?
Recently saw a senior guy with headphones at the airport doing a meeting and i am thinking of upping my game.
Not sure if i have hearing loss, but sometimes I do miss things during calls because I get distracted by other sounds or the other party is too soft (but for some reason everyone else seems to hear him/her clearly).
Any recommendations at various price points will be appreciated.
I am a tech noob and not an audiophile so not sure how much i need to spend. Also, happy to get feedback that I don't need to spend on headphones and the stock bluetooth airpods or samsung etc. earphones will do - not sure if i'm jumping the gun.
I used to be an audio engineer so I know headphones. I currently I personally use Beats series 3 but I know the Bose are more worth it bang for ya buck. Your looking for something with noise cancellation mainly. Beats is nice because they match the frequency of background noise with white noise making it feel more muffled and in the background.
I know most will say some noise cancelling earphones / headphones but the way to go are the wired Apple ones... Enough balance to hear your tunes / office gossip / always on alert mode so that you pick up all of your MD's rapping out of comments rather than emailing them to you
I'm a big wired fan (i.e. always hated that i had to make a mental note for changing batteries or charging for keyboard and mouse), but think i'm going to stay wireless for the headphones. it really is great especially when i pace around or am on the move.
Are you in the Australia area? Wired is huge here
I have the Sony earbuds, the XM4s I think. Great battery life, great noise supression with background noise like cars. Not great for speaking, you have to speak quite loud to be heard (difficult for discussing personal or confidential topics) and because they are tuned to pick up voices they become for phone calls in a crowd or even in the office.
Whatever you do get, I would prioritize microphone quality over everything else if the goal is meetings / work.
For wireless, get Raycon fitness earphones. Have multiple audio options like bass boost (if you need to filter out noise) and others.
Also comes with awareness mode if you need to hear your surrounding simultaneously. Reasonable price, lasts a good while.
Don’t get beats, they’re cheap af regarding materials, all the price you pay is for branding.
I primarily use my Airpod Pro's for everything and anything - they are just the easy button for me, especially when traveling. I can go from gym to office to car to plane with the same set. All the features are just fine - noise cancelling is good enough, certainly not the absolute best.
For 'larger' type headphones - I like the Sony line the best, I've found them to be the best sound quality + noise canecelling for planes, etc. I'm a generation or three behind but still great.
