What to wear to an informational interview with an very senior MD at his office during work hours?

I will be having an informational interview with a very senior MD at his office in September. We've already spoken on the phone, and the purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the sophomore summer analyst position. Now at this place, the sophomore analyst position is almost totally diversity, but he would have the power to hire me if he wanted to.

So should I treat this more like a standard coffee chat with business casual, or should I treat it more like an actual interview and come in a full suit and tie? This meeting is explicitly about the summer analyst program.

I know its a while away, but I have a lot of time on my hands right now and was just pondering this.

Always a suit. Forget the informational part, it's an interview for sure even if its not "official", whatever the fuck that means...like u said if he likes you he can make shit happen

also if I were you I'd make sure to look sharp and prepare well beforehand - treat it as if it's a superday interview

$0.02 from someone who once was caught off guard and went unprepared to one of these...horrible experience I'd tell you
