What type of shirts do analysts wear?

Incoming 1st year analyst. What shirt patterns are appropriate to buy/wear to the office? Besides the normal all white and all blue shirts, can things like stripes/checks/different colors be appropriate? For example: how about a lavender shirt, or one a white one with stripes. (I promise I'm not a doofus, just curious to know what the norms are and if anyone has any unwritten rules)

1) Not knowing rich people dress code doesn't make you a doofus.

2) Wear whatever YOU think looks nice. I wore all types of shirts while everyone else wore plain white/light blue and some analysts would say how I'm the only person with a soul and confidence in the office. Another analyst thought he was trying to make fun of me but that just exposed her for the follower mentality she has (he clarified and said he was being serious).

Not to be cliche, but "don't care what other people think" ;)
