Zoom Interview Attire?

Have an interview with a large PERE firm Friday for an Asset Manager position. 30 minutes with a Senior MD. It’s been awhile since I’ve interviewed, but I’ve read a nice business professional jacket and button down is fine for a Zoom interview, but should I go suit and tie? (charcoal suit, white shirt, conservative tie)

I’d prefer to go jacket and shirt, and if I get called back to their office, then break out the suit/tie. Any thoughts/help appreciated.

Thanks all!

I do suit and tie every time. let’s say you wear the suit and tie.
Worst case: you didn’t need to and they don’t care.
Best case: you wore the correct attire and saved yourself a bad look.
I don’t think anyone will judge you negatively for wearing the tie, especially an older person. I’ve gotten many compliments and thank yous for wearing them to zoom interviews from older people in the industry.

For a Zoom interview with a Senior MD at a large PERE firm, I'd go suit and tie. Worst case, you're a little overdressed and no one cares. Best case, you make a strong first impression and avoid looking too casual. Older finance guys tend to appreciate the effort. If you get a second round in the office, then you already have the formality covered.
