Entrepreneurship/Start-ups Forum

Hello,

I wanted to make a suggestion to create a new forum, that serves the purpose of monkeys that are trying to build their own business (i.e. PE fund, HF, consulting firm, etc.). They can use this forum to talk about their venture and/or perhaps even get some partners/investors. Thanks.

I think it's a good idea. Yeah, you're going to get a bunch of kids asking "I want to start my own company! Where do I start?" But WSO has an unreplicated (as far as I know) internet gathering of young, intelligent people with useful skills, good experience, and ambition, and I think it's a very natural progression for people in IB/HF/PE/consulting etc. to realize the real money comes from being your own boss. Something interesting might happen if we have a forum specifically for entrepreneurship.

Hey guys, this is what The Other Road forum is for...the tag line is "Other careers including entrepreneurship and pottery."

We've had a lot of business ideas go through there over the years...if it was more active with a ton of ideas of new businesses I'd give some thought to breaking them out, but I don't think we need an entirely separate forum (yet).

Fair enough. Now that I think about it, a WSO group makes more sense than a forum anyway. I didn't see one yet, so I made one - refer to my signature line.
