Hey guys, just a quick update. We have made some improvements to WSO Search in the last few weeks. We hope this will make finding the best information in the WSO archives much easier:
1. New "Company Search Results" section at top of results...so many times, when users are searching for company specific information, they didn't realize the goldmine of information right in the WSO Company Database. Now we are distinguishing between Company Search Results and Community Search Results so that if there is a lot of data on a specific company in the company DB, you can see that up front and get to it right away ...
2. New order facet for Silver Bananas!!!...you can filter the community search results by # of comments...but now you also can filter the results based on the # of Silver Bananas given to the original post! We think this is another way for users to pull out some of the best content from the archives
3. Remove unpublished spam content from search index...made some fixes to get this crap out
4. Auto-complete (coming later today)...later today, as you type in the search boxes, you'll be given suggestions based on the letters you're typing to save you some more time.

That's pretty great.
The only other suggestion I would suggest (lulz) is something to sort by date. Seems like a simplish thing to do. So that way I can pull up the most recent content on trading or insurance, rather than what appears to be a random order? Like a 'sort by date'?
do you see the "sort by" options on the upper left?
Clearly not, and this is exactly why we just brought on a UI/UX designer...to make sure you guys can see all the options :-)

Already see a difference. Man, I wish people could have seen this place 4 or 5 years ago. Night and day doesnt even do it justice.
thanks happy - yes, sometimes I have to look back at some old screenshots to remind myself that we've come a LONG way. Doesn't mean we can't keep getting better :-)
We've been doing weekly user testing which has helped us see blind spots and obvious user issues that we're blind to since we work on the site 50+hrs/week.
The WSO Company Database has undergone a lot of changes, but there is a lot more coming in terms of typography, font, improving the video library, submissions forms, menus, etc etc... nothing dramatic (yet), just small incremental improvements every week is our goal.
