Income: Credits/Bananas
I think participants should receive an income of credits/bananas depending on their ranking. So, maybe chimps get zero, monkeys get 1/month, king kong gets 1/week.... something like that...

SBs are a reward and show that a User's advice is solid or should be taken with a grain of salt. Your suggestion employs the same logic as guaranteed bonuses - any muppet could post a random load of bollocks and achieve status.
The problem is, there's been plenty of times someone has given me really good advice, but I can't reward them due to a lack of bananas/credits.
I would rather see an expansion of the "quality posts = SB" system that is shown in the info about SBs. I got given a lot of SBs early on, idk if that was because I'm a mod, hopefully for my posts, I'm not sure. But I do know that if we simply give SBs to people who do not contribute/trolls, it undermines the site. Right now if trolls want to throw shit, they have to buy it- as it should be. If people like say...Dan Bush, aspiringmonkey, or blumie got 1 SB/week....may God help us all.
You guys definitely have a good point, I'm just trying to figure out a way that I can give more SBs where I think someone deserves it. I check this forum multiple times a day and probably see something I feel is banana worthy at least once a day, but I really can only "afford" to give out one banana every week or two, at most. Anyway, it's just a thought.
Guys, how expensive are the bananas? I mean, c'mon. The last time I bought bananas I got 125 of them for $20 bucks. Get the mousetraps out of your pockets.
Not all of us are on some 2 kids in Paris BSD status homie.
Sadly, I'm broke as f*ck. Unemployed, still looking for work. Once I have some cash-money though, I'd probably buy some.
Yeah, I guess that is what I meant, haha. I didn't really think it through before the post, but yeah, that's what I'm talking about...
To clarify, I believe econ is suggesting that we should be given a credit/week or month, not SBs. SBs still need to be earned, but we should be given the power to award SB (or sling shit) at people. I think it's a good idea.
Thats what I was talking about. same problem with giving too much power to the trolls who post a lot
Patrick does give out credits to users periodically based on numbers of silver bananas, which are a pretty good indicator of contribution IMHO
I have the 4th most SBs and have gotten credits once so this is true.
I got a ton of credits once, but I'm unsure if its a continued program or a one off thing.
we give out 90 WSO credits for free every day now. 30 to 3 users chosen based on solid contributions / comments.
we did a 1-off reward a few months ago to the SB leaders, but we may do another one soon.
Thanks, Patrick
