New WSO Logo is Here

Dearest Fellow Primates - when we embarked on this journey of a new WSO logo, I never envisioned there would be such passionate and WILDLY differing opinions... After many weeks of iterations and countless back and forth, with my team, with our fans on Instagram, Facebook, etc and with all of you -- we have chosen the logo below to move forward.

I know some of you won't be happy since we have come to love our monkey at the computer, but I hope you'll embrace this new logo. I can promise you this was very hard personally since I feel great attachment to the current logo as well.

That being said, here is how I see the new logo:

  • Monkey now looking up and hopeful with aspirations -- very important in how we try to serve our monkeys

  • Still in the same blue iconic circle (Oasis)

  • After much debate and the designers screaming at me, I fought to keep the palm tree (even though from a pure design standpoint it is inferior) since you all made it very clear that it was important to you and what the brand meant :-)

  • For the font we wanted to stay classy (decision to stay serif) but make it much bolder (representative of the brashness of our primates on here!) and I think we accomplished that

Now we have a logo that will be much more visible as the world shifts mobile and WSO crosses that threshold where 50% of our traffic is now on mobile devices. We also expect that to spike in a few weeks once we launch our mobile app to iOS and Android.

Stay tuned -- you should start seeing the new icon + new logo in general within the next ~24-48hrs.

Thank you again for all of your feedback and help! Patrick

I 100% really like it. The monkey's head looking into the sky reminds me of looking towards goals ,ambitions, aspirations, and future endeavors. The palm tree definitely looks like a sense of paradise or maybe an island getaway. I think it will compliment the site very nicely. Excellent job on the creation of the new logo.

Unfortunately not a fan of the palm tree. But it's just barely noticeable especially on smaller res, so I can get on board with it. Woo!

And I'm glad you kept the palm tree. Gives the monkey context. I just scrolled through the discussion thread and he kinda looks like an odd sock puppet without it.

Would be curious to see what you do with the new logo on t-shirts. I vote for a bit more subtlety - smaller logo by the heart (maybe just the circular monkey logo, and “wso” separately on the sleeve / back near neck), rather than a giant logo in the middle. Going for the former I think makes it more wearable outside of the house for monkeys’ day to day (gym, errands, casual, etc).

New logo looks really good, glad you kept the palm tree. It's easier to see the monkey at the oasis now! Agree with kanon above here that the new merch should include a small logo, similar to the Suspiscous Antwerp-tees with an emblem on the heart. "WSO" could go on the neck seam itself.

I don't know... Yeah. Almost definitely yes.

I'm sorry, I am just a little bit confused. You can't see the new logo on the website...? Do you mind if I ask what browser you are using?
