Quant forum?
What do you monkeys think about adding a quant forum? Seems like quant topics end up in a couple of the other forums.
Somebody more clever than me would need to come up with the forum name.

Queefing Quants
Nuclearphynance and Wilmott are great resources as they are, I don't think WSO needs to be in that space.

Quants are a very niche market for a site like WSO. Of 200 markets analysts/associates coming into a large bank every year, perhaps 10-15 of them are quants.
Both of your numbers are too low. Related, quants aren't niche anymore. While people don't like to label themselves quants, there are many businesses and support groups in large banks that are quant-y.
Problem is a ton of people post on the forum thinking they want to be quants when really theyre just looking for a role that takes more math than the others but not necessarily a 'quant' i.e. derivatives trading.
On which forum?
The ratio of derivatives trader wannabe posts to quant wannabe posts is the opposite of what you suggest.

Exactly this.
would you classify algo traders as quants
yep.
Yup. I would.
I think a quant forum would be a good idea, considering that it is an emerging field and the financial firms are moving towards them. Cautiously yes, but they are. Also, I guess it will help the existing subscribers of the community because who know, they might consider picking up a course (online or offline)
You can try out Quantra, that has it's very own community page. There is also QuantInsti - although their blogs are amazing, they often reply to all their queries and comments on their blogs.
