Valuation forum
Not sure if this has come up before, but I feel like WSO would benefit from a forum dedicated to valuation issues. Not neutered CFA-specific AnalystForum stuff, but real-world questions about best practices. I know most of the readership here is just trying to launch their career, but there are enough experienced people that I feel like it would fill a gap. I'm not aware of anything else out there.
Depends on the perspective. Valuation from an accounting perspective is quite boring and academic.
already suggested something similar: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/accounting-financial-theory-techn…
hey guys, I think that is way too niche a forum...if we did valuation, we would have to do a lot of other forums.
Having more forums when people already struggle to post in the right forum as it is now is a tough sell -- can you not find a huge host of valuation discussions by using search?
I see a lot of relevant threads right here: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/search/apachesolr_search/valuations
Financial analysts have no shortage of wizardry for computing the value of a company. However, when dealing with consumer-facing businesses, perhaps the most important inputs to a valuation estimate are exactly how many more units are reasonable and realistic, and what level of performance can be expected from those units. This specific type of valuation analysis is critical if you are planning to buy or sell your business.
Relies upon the viewpoint. Valuation from a bookkeeping viewpoint is very exhausting and scholarly.
You can just ask a valuation question as is... under IB etc... geez
Thanks for your interest in my question, guys, but this post is from 2013. Let's leave it there.
