I see no reason for there to not be a chat room for the general members. If people complained so much, why did they even go in the chat room?
An incident occurred where someone started revealing the identities of some of the more frequent visitors of WSO. Since WSO takes anonymity so seriously (with good reason), they decided to open chat only to certified users until they come up with a way to moderate the chat so that nothing like that will ever happen again.
