WSO Mods Are Editing Your Words Now

Maybe I missed a memo or something, but I was shocked to see just now that WSO mods edited one of my posts to make it more PC.  No notification to me, or to readers of hte post.  New low in terms of the excessive censorship on the site.

The edit is below.  It was on the topic of the low % of women in hedge funds.  Totally wild that they would do this.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, moderation practices on WSO have been a topic of significant discussion. Recent updates indicate that WSO has implemented stricter moderation tools, including automated flagging systems like Hive moderation, which flag or unpublish posts based on potential violations. Additionally, moderators have been given tools to review flagged content and either remove it or allow it to remain.

While there is no explicit mention in the context about mods editing posts for political correctness (PC), there have been complaints about overreach in moderation, such as removing posts or comments deemed controversial or likely to lead to violations. For example, posts about affirmative action or other sensitive topics have been removed to avoid excessive moderation burdens. This aligns with the broader concerns about censorship and the balance between maintaining open communication and enforcing community guidelines.

If your post was edited without notification, it might be worth reaching out to the WSO mod team directly for clarification.

95% of your posts are far right trolls and they are still up. Almost nothing you have is remotely on topic / finance related and it's not even clear you work in the industry anymore.

Just seems a bit farfetched to think something rather innoucous is now a target of censorship. Odds are you either are making this up for attention or were a dick to one too many mods and they are just messing with you.

No one else has this problem...

Your posts are cringe, but yeah that’s extremely not cool on WSO’s part and I hope they do something about this
