S&T is the most obvious/tried and true path, but there are also more fresh grad programs at some of the larger funds than there ever have been before (Citadel, Baly, Brevan, Bluecrest, Bracebridge, etc.).

Global macro really just implies your bets are normally based on macroeconomics more than anything (e.g. rates trading). Doesn't mean that eq l/s guy don't think about macro/politics at all. That's not true in the slightest. Most don't try to have an edge here though, they just try to be aware and perhaps hedge that exposure.
But yes global macro HFs pull from S&T. You're in the wrong division if that's your goal.
