2 case studies at the same time - what should I do?

Recently interviewed with two L/S hedge funds. Met the entire investment team for both funds and it appears that fit is not an issue - both funds told me that the case study was the next step.

I think the biggest pushback at both places was my limited experience/knowledge of sectors outside my coverage (currently a sell-side analyst).

One fund gave me a name to look at. The other stated he will get back to me with a name early next week.

With a day job, I will likely have little time to dedicate to two case studies at the same time (I also have to initiate on two names over the next two weeks or so).

Do you think it would be a bad idea to approach the second fund and request whether it is ok to do the case on the name the first fund gave me? Would this not be recommended?

Your advice appreciated.
