Advice for Non Target Aspiring PM

I am currently at a non target. I will be transferring next year, idk yet but hoping for (Boston college, Duke, UNC). With that said i am still applying for sophomore summer 2023 internships. I have a close friend of mine who’s in S&T at BofA. I applied (S&T) used his name as a referral and a diversity organization i am a part of that is partner with BofA. What are my chances i hear back?Coming from a non target trying to be come a PM. How should i attempt to break in? Start off in ER? S&T? and then try to transition to AM? HF?
