Advice / Guidance From Actual HF'ers
Just graduated, starting work at a top BB (JPM/GS/MS), in a group in their Investment Management arm. Have interned at 2 small hedge funds throughout my college career. Wanted to know, for those of you who actually work at top hedge funds, how I should prepare myself throughout my 3-5 year career before business school to make sure I have a good shot at top hedge funds. What are top target MBA schools for large funds?
Any advice is helpful. Books, classes, websites, tests (CFA, the HF one).
slightly off topic--when you say investment management is that ms pe or is that just all of asset mgmt? (I think ms PE is under the IM division right)
edit-- i meant ms merchant banking
You want to work at a traditional L/S HF ?
It's under Asset Management, not PB/pwm/gwm though. Investment Management.
Interned at a merger arb fund, thats where I would love to be. But not sure the exact route to get there.
