Alternative Asset Management vs Hedge Fund

Sorry if this is a super dumb question, but I want to clear up some terminology confusion. In my area, if I search for "hedge funds near me", only a few come up online. One of the online results describes themselves as an "alternative asset management firm". Is that just another way of saying hedge fund, or is it different in some way?
