It isn’t approaching it’s end. It already ended. I think the LPs haven’t redeemed because the capital lock duration isn’t up yet. This will become a family office in within the next 5 years.

I don't think so. They were probably given a guarantee comp, even though performance was not up to par, we can be sure they made more than what they would have at APO. Another thing is that the connections you make while being at Tiger, you have access to almost all SM funds, some MMs, fellow Tiger Cubs and good start-ups where you can safely exit to should the firm dissolve.

Funniest

Yup everyone knows it works that way. The kid with 4-5yrs of cumulative professional experience, who basically did expert network call notes all year for a 15 line DCF, OBVIOUSLY gets dished out 20 mil.

I mean in a year that good there is soooo much money and they just throw it around to everyone who is there. Its a problem, they had to tell Chase to stop throwing money around because the AUM to IP ratio was just soo high. He accidently gave the elevator operator 500k.

Why was he doing VC investments for Tiger when he came from a PE/credit background

I mean with that high watermark looming and all the bad press, I can't imagine why any partners would want to stay. They're probably downgrading to a family office before 2030.

Why they would want to stay? What other choice do they have?

If you’re a partner at Tiger Global that means you played a principal role in blowing it up, which means the investment world views you as a physical moron.

Luckily, you bilked your investors out of tens of millions of dollars to personally enrich yourself over the last handful of years before the music stopped, so you’ll be fine. But let’s not pretend like these people have any options other than running their own money.

Where did Lehman BrothersCFO and Chief Risk Officer land post-GFC?
