Any way for junior analysts to keep a track record of their long / short recommendation performance?
Is there any way for junior analysts to keep a track record of their long / short performance? My PM passes on a a lot of ideas so I wanted to keep something of a track record (for myself and future career opportunities) about how well my recommendations have done.
Any way to do this? Is paper trading the best way to do this?

Paper trading is a good way. Both Bloomberg and Interactive Brokers have good tools to do this.
BBG and IB are the best way to go. For compliance reasons a mock fund in bbg port is probably the safest and you get time stamps for the trades so there is accountability
