Any way for junior analysts to keep a track record of their long / short recommendation performance?
Is there any way for junior analysts to keep a track record of their long / short performance? My PM passes on a a lot of ideas so I wanted to keep something of a track record (for myself and future career opportunities) about how well my recommendations have done.
Any way to do this? Is paper trading the best way to do this?
can I introduce you to a spreadsheet... ?
Paper trading is a good way. Both Bloomberg and Interactive Brokers have good tools to do this.
BBG and IB are the best way to go. For compliance reasons a mock fund in bbg port is probably the safest and you get time stamps for the trades so there is accountability
