Are non-competed enforced if pod blows up?
Currently an analyst at a MM (P72/BAM) and pod blew up recently. Trying to get re-poded internally but wondering if that doesn't work out and I get let go, will the non-compete still get enforced?

Hard to say without all the facts, but short answer is yes. The non-compete is with the fund, not the pod. Whether they choose to enforce is a different question. Once you have an offer, it is an easy conversation to have with your current fund. Same thing happened to me and they waived it. Best of luck.
If your pod blows up and you don't get placed internally into another pod then they most likely won't enforce for analysts. At the PM level it's less clear. It really depends on the fund: some funds will basically push you hard to take an internal placement, others basically won't care about the churn. If you're at the latter sort of place, and you really don't like any of the other pods, you can just decline all the interviews, take your 1-2 months of severace pay and look for a new job. that's what I did.
I've usually seen it waived at the analyst level because they don't want to pay you while you sit out for however many months.
