Are you a quant jock?

I am interested in HF, and I would like to know how quantitative you need to be in order to succeed. I have sufficient quant skills to do well in IB (mainly arithmetic). My impression is that HF/trading will require much more than that. Is this right?

This may be completely wrong, but I've got the impression that equity-based/value oriented hedge fund houses tend to be "less quantitative" (relies more on due diligence and sector knowledge) than funds employing more exotic strategies. What do you think?
